TO HAVE NEW HOMES BUILT where BRENTWOOD RESIDENTS WANT THEM
& PROTECT BASILDON RESIDENTS.

ON THIS WEBSITE WISH TO PROVIDE FACTS.
However, due to Brentwood Borough Council ACTIONS ARE MAKING IT DIFFICULT AS POSSIBLE.

  1. Being deliberately obstructive
  2. Not answering questions and using delaying tactics
  3. Lack of Honesty & Integrity and supplying misinformation
  4. Lack of Openess and Transparency
MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE HOW THEY CAN JUSTIFY ANY DEVELOPMENT AT DUNTON!

We are not commenting on Dunton here at present if Basildon Conservatives keep their word and do not build more than the 300 New Homes proposed.

Note: DUNTON GARDEN SUBURB – ended 2014/5: Joint proposal ended as Brentwood Borough Council had not carried out comparable studies to Basildon Borough Council to determine it was a suitable location for development.
However, Brentwood & Basildon Borough Councils could build DUNTON GARDEN SUBURB by the back door (without proper scrutiny)!

FACTS: (Read details on INFRASTRUCTURE PAGE)
If DUNTON HILLS GARDEN VILLAGE Built (A New Town) ALL Basildon Residents will end up paying for it.
As ALL the INCOME e.g. Say 4,000 x annual Council Tax of £1,500 = £6,000,00+ received by Brentwood Council (figure likely higher), then even though REPORTS STATE DHGV will be self-sufficient, their planning have advised will be relying on Basildons infrastructure.

BRENTWOOD BOROUGH COUNCIL
creating
DUNTON NEW TOWN

show as – DUNTON HILLS GARDEN VILLAGE (DGHV)

4,000 New Homes (Minimum 2,700 by 2033 with rest by 2038 at latest
but advised wish ALL by 2033) + Gypsy & Traveller pitches)
Also have far more land available and have stated will look to increase size of Town
16,000 + RESIDENTS, 8,000 VEHICLES
+ show 5 but quoted 30+ TRAVELLERS/GYPSY PITCHES

&

DUNTON – Basildons development

Basildon – 300 New Homes to start but appear to wish to build at least over 2,000!
Reason for saying this is after speaking with Andrew Baggott, Leader of the council.
Therefore, vastly increasing with minimum of 8,000 Residents & 4,000 Vehicles

BRENTWOOD BOROUGH COUNCIL (BBC): REPORTS
Contain Fabricated/Manipulated + have Omitted information, to present them in a misleading fashion.

If you the council any questions, they are either obstructive or do not answer.
BRENTWOOD’S COUNCIL REPORTS describe DUNTON as FENLAND, the worst site considered (which is a critical drainage area) confirming is unsuitable for development but considers is the most profitable and keeps residents out of Brentwoods main area.

BRENTWOOD BOROUGH COUNCIL: MASTERPLAN & INFRASTRUCTURE
Have deliberately misled everyone for over 4 years as to the Master Plan & Infrastructure as in September 2018 stated previously was only only their thinking.
ADVISED NOW BEING LOOKED INTO NOW TO PASS PLANNING INSPECTORATE but intend not to provide details for anyone before hearing, ensuring no-one can comment on.

GOVERNMENT GRANT: additional £528,000 for DHGV obtained. In fact after speaking with officers at Brentwood Council becomes obvious the presentation was by Commercial Estates Group (Their partners) with little input by the council!

HOUSING TARGETS: New Homes
Basildon council’s housing target 19,440 compared to Brentwood’s target 7,600, WOW, TOTALLY UNJUST.

GOVERMENT RULES are biased protecting Councils like Brentwood from development e.g. National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) ensures Basildon’s housing target is far higher than Brentwood’s but when asked do not comment as to any action/objection to the formula.

(BRENTWOOD 39% larger than Basildon District AND 140% fewer population), only a small part has housing.
Brentwoods small population should be greatly increased especially as they have the best areas
e.g PILGRIMS HATCH, North Brentwood (as reports prove when accurately amended)
and capacity due to Large areas of Greenbelt – especially North of A12 and excellent infrastructure, where Brentwood Residents want development.

Brentwood Borough Council consider South of A127 ‘Outside of their District’.

NIMBYISM by the government and how Brentwood District gets preferential treatment, though 140% fewer people –
39% larger area and 6th in country for greenbelt COMPARED TO BASILDON and for years the latter has been GREATLY built on.

The government know that the houses to be built in Basildon District are mainly for people from outside the area.

CARPETBAGGERY by BRENTWOOD BOROUGH COUNCIL (Just like after the American Civil War)
M
eans Brentwood plundering all the Income: Council Tax, Grants, Government money for very little or no cost, as dumping costs and problems on Basildon Council and its residents.

Political NIMBYISM by BRENTWOOD BOROUGH COUNCIL

Understand Brentwood can then increase size of town, by up to 50%, due to the land it will be able to attain!

BRENTWOODS PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT, Dunton Hills Garden Village, is politically motivated, as consider South of A127 OUT OF (Brentwood Districts) Area.

PLEASE NOTE:
The following table shows how some councils like Brentwood get preferential treatment,
even though Brentwood is in 297th position compared to Basildon which is 98th.

COMPARING
Brentwood BOROUGH COUNCIL
BASILDON BOROUGH COUNCIL
SIZE & AREA SIZE & AREA
HOUSING TARGETS NOTE: (140%) SMALLER POPULATION

To even Council areas Brentwood like claiming 6th in country for Greenbelt
and wish to keep people out
of what they consider is Brentwood’s district.
BRENTWOOD need to increase population to 254,216
therefore,
START by building at least 40,000 NEW HOMES by 2031
Wanted by Brentwood Residents
(
in the North of the District)
and then building double whatever Basildon’s Quota,
for the next few decades.
AS BRENTWOOD consider Dunton which is South of A127
(bordered by A128)
OUT OF AREA,
it should be transferred to
Basildon Council

(Not in Brentwood’s District).
Basildon now has to build
19,440 NEW HOMES!Have submited a lower figure to Government.

DUNTON NEW TOWN

Please read INFRASTRUCTURE PAGE for more FACTS

Brentwood’s proposed development is completely unjustified at Dunton as proven when you read Reports and councils comments.

  • One has to ask is Dunton suitable for building New Homes when Brentwood Council describe it as Fenland (Meaning a low and marshy or frequently flooded area of land/covered by shallow water meaning this site is totally unsuitable for development), likely to flood/have suface water and soil & water CONTAMINATION as indicated in Brentwood’s reports.
DEVELOPMENT AT DHGV PROBABLY UNVIABLE TO ENSURE NO PROBLEMS NOW OR IN THE FUTURE BUT IS CONSIDERED OUT OF BRENTWOOD DISTRICT
    .
  • DUNTON is the WORST area in Brentwood reports, if accurately amended & missing information added, to build New Homes + Gypsy/Travellers Pitches.
DEVELOPMENT AT DHGV PROBABLY UNVIABLE TO ENSURE NO PROBLEMS NOW OR IN THE FUTURE BUT IS CONSIDERED OUT OF BRENTWOOD DISTRICT

Brentwood Council have not supplied substantiated reasoning for their inaccurate reports.
THEY CONTINUE TO BE OBSTRUCTIVE EVERY WAY THEY CAN, TO ENSURE NO-ONE CAN COMMENT.

Taking Brentwood Council’s own reports into consideration (with inaccuracies amended) the Best areas in Brentwood to build developments are:
(i) PILGRIMS HATCH (II) SHENFIELD (III) NORTH BRENTWOOD IV) GREENFIELD SITES North of A12 & (v) URBAN EXTENSIONS.
The highest ethical professional standards are expected from everyone concerned, but alas this does not appear to be the case.

Let us acknowledge that by BASILDON COUNCIL NOT TAKING REAL ACTION means THE FOLLOWING FACTS: –

  1. BRENTWOOD COUNCIL will have ALL the FINANCIAL BENEFITS:
Millions of pounds from government, besides Council taxes and other grants etc.
  2. BASILDON DISTRICT RESIDENTS TO pay for DHGV infrastructure costs, year on year, causing severe problems (INCREASED BASILDON COUNCIL TAX, REDUCED SERVICES & OTHER SEVERE PROBLEMS).
    READ INFRASTRUCTURE PAGE FOR DETAILS.

There are more points but have kept this to a minimum.

On speaking to government institutions/departments it is beginning to appear that there are no safeguards for residents and councils can proceed with unethical developments at will.

Now is the time for action to STOP Brentwood’s development DHGV.

What no-one likes is a play on words, waffle or misinformation to obtain a result that discriminates against the local residents of Basildon, especially by another Council i.e. Brentwood.

No development should even be considered at Dunton until professional report(s) fully resolves all issues, with‘t’s crossed and ‘i’s dotted.

Understand Essex Wildlife Trust is also against DUNTON LOSS of GREENBELT, plus it’s Biodiversity by proposed development and English Heritage extremely concerned about developments.

ONLY ACTION NOT WORDS will stop Brentwood’s proposed unethical development.

LATEST NEWS: (Read also Page Headed ‘LATEST NEWS’)
BASILDON
COUNCIL appear do not propose to take any real action against DHGV development, in fact agree subject to negotiation (This is because we have noted Andrew Baggot’s comments) as believe wishes to build up to 3,500 New Homes at DUNTON!

BRENTWOODS CONSULTATION ended 5pm Tuesday 19th March 2019 – however, was not a real consultation as unable to supply factual detail, only Brentwood Councils thinking but likely some/most will never happen but then appear unprofessional in approach.
